What would you be willing to give up to ransom a life?

Project Ransom extends an invitation to a year of prayer and sacrifice for the unborn.


First, you choose one consumer item that you enjoy (it could be a food, a beverage, an entertainment, anything you desire on a regular basis), and give it up for a year. Next, calculate the money you will save that year by not buying that item, and donate that amount to a crisis pregnancy center or other pro-life organization. Then, throughout the year, whenever you are tempted by that item, offer up the sacrifice in prayer for the unborn and their mothers.

The genius of Project Ransom is threefold:

  1. Economic aid for crisis pregnancies

  2. Spiritual power built by fasting from the desired item

  3. Frequent reminders to pray for all trapped by the lie that abortion is the solution to their troubles. 


It is a prayer, fasting, and almsgiving trifecta.


The blood of 60 million slaughtered children cries out to heaven as judgment against our country.  It is a serious weight of guilt we bear as a society. But there are signs of hope! 


NOW is the time to make a push for conversion of hearts! 


God told Abraham that just 10 righteous men could save Sodom.  If only 10 men could save that wicked city, what could hundreds (or even thousands) of fasting Americans do for the United States?  We could change the culture. 


“Even now, says the Lord, return to Me with all your heart, with fasting, with weeping, and with mourning.”  (Joel 2:12) 


What could your fasting look like?  Daily coffee given up for the unborn?  Netflix, Sirius radio, or Pandora account shut down for a year?  Forego desserts for a year?  The specific sacrifice matters less than the love and fidelity with which it is done.  Each time we resist the temptations to indulge, we can offer it up for the conversion of hearts, and through fasting we save the culture.


Project Ransom is not an organization. It is not a movement. It is simply an invitation. An invitation to fight for justice for the unborn child, and be in prayerful solidarity with those facing unplanned pregnancies. In this battle, both prayer and fasting are necessary to turn the hearts of our nation’s people back to God.  Never has the need been greater.
